How
did I come to be called Aunt Purple? When my niece, Kelsie,
was a year old she could say A LOT of words, but she would not
even try to say my name (ok, Raquel is not the easiest name).
I like purple and happen to wear it a lot and my sister had
taught Kelsie "purple." So, I looked at Kelsie one
day and said, "Ok, why don't you just call me Purple."
She just smiled at me...but she's called me Purple ever since.
And now her brother, Kaleb, calls me Purple too. So, there you
have it--I'm Aunt Purple.
I became interested in lowering the fat and calories when I
joined Weight Watchers in January 2001. Prior to joining Weight
Watchers I attempted many different diet programs and plans,
but was never able to maintain a loss. On the Weight Watchers
Winning Points plan I lost 35 pounds and 4 clothing sizes in
6 months. I have maintained that loss and changing the way I
eat (as well as exercising) has helped me to do this. I am hoping
the recipes in my cookbooks will enable you to enjoy the foods
you love but also help you maintain your own weight loss program.
